Mobile Home

Seminole Valley ParkWorkers maneuver a house around a corner on Tuesday, December 1, 1987, on its way from West Main Street, just outside Robins, to Pioneer Village, located south of 42nd Street NE near Seminole Valley Park in Cedar Rapids. Darrell and Myra Marks, who lived in the house before they built a new home, donated it to Pioneer Village in 1986. Although it never was used as a hotel, the house was later restored as such for use at Pioneer Village. Village Director Vicki Hughes said the house had the same design and dimensions as a structure in Fairview, Iowa, which was a hotel and stagecoach stop in the 1800s.
